Liquid Landscape, 2016
Debatchery. Saints. Children Playing. Men fishing. This artist book opens with a poem in the tone of a young girl exclaiming about the world around her. When the complete spread opens, a panoramic view of a liquid-esque landscape emerges. The land is composed of tight patterns and shapes inspired by medieval manuscripts. Inside the wooden tray underneath the book rests ¼”plexi-glass amorphic prints. These pieces act as a form of contemplation that engages the viewer to play and seek out their place within the panoramic spread. Some pieces cover-up the debauchery in the scene while others magnify wandering saints.
